From Fishbourne Wightlink ferry terminal
Leave the ferry terminal, turn right up the hill and at the traffic lights turn right towards Wotton down Kite Hill.
Pass through Wotton, go up the hill and turn left at the traffic lights down Station Road. travel about half a mile and turn left at the mini roundabout towards Sandown along Briddlesford Road. ♦ Travel about two miles and at the mini roundabout by Robin Hill Country Park, go straight over, go through the traffic lights, down the hill to Arreton.
At the T junction turn right towards Newport. About half a mile on you’ll come to a sharp right hand bend, start indicating left as you turn right as the road to Merston is just past the bend. Turn left towards Merston via Merston Lane, pass through Merston and follow it to the end (about half a mile) to the staggered crossroads.
Turn left to Godshill then take the immediate right (there is a sign to our local pub, The Chequers Inn on the junction) into Chequers Inn road.
Continue for about a half a mile until you approach a sharp right hand bend. Don’t follow this but carry on up the single track road in front of you called Southview.(Don’t worry too much if you miss it, continue and we are the next turning on the left opposite the Chequers Inn) At the end of Southview is Bagwich Lane. Turn left and we are about half a mile down the lane on your left
From East Cowes via Red Funnel
Leave the terminal, drive up the hill along the A3021 York Avenue. Pass Osbourne House and the Prince of Wales pub until you come to a mini roundabout.
Take the first junction towards Whippingham. Stay on the A3021, passing through Whippingham down the hill until you come to a roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout towards Ryde. After about 200/300 yds turn right down Park Road until you come to a mini roundabout. Go straight over and follow the directions from the fishbourne Wightlink ferry above at the ♦ sign (Briddlesford Road)
From Yarmouth Wightlink terminal
After leaving the terminal, head towards Newport via the A3054 passing through Shalfleet. Follow the A3054 all the way to Newport until you come to a roundabout with St Marys hospital and B & Q in front of you. Turn right towards Newport via Medina way (This is the only dual carriageway on the island!) go around the roundabout at the bottom following the signs for Sandown and head out along the A3020 towards Sandown. as you drive along you’ll pass the new ASDA superstore (cheap petrol here so fill up if you are short of fuel) Keep going until you see a junction on your right signposted Blackwater and Rookley. Take this junction right (still the A3020) and drive through Blackwater into Rookley. Just as you drive through Rookley, look for a junction on your right signposted Niton (Niton Road) take this road and drive along for about a mile until you see our local pub, The Chequers Inn on your left.
Turn left and immediately right, up Bagwich Lane which is right in front of the entrance to the pub. We are just short of a mile on your left
